We reported a while back about Rolls Royce prospering despite the credit crunch, and figures revealed today show that they continue to prosper despite the doom and gloom. When we last wrote about this back in November, we reported that Rolls Royce’s year end showed an increase of 38% year on year, with a total of 945 cars sold. Well, they’ve obviously continued in the same vein as their 2008 sales total has reached 1210, an increase of 20% over 2007.
The Chinese love their rear-seat legroom. The workhorse of Shanghai taxi fleets is an extended-wheelbase Volkswagen called the Santana; think 1980s Quantum with longer rear doors. Audi's Chinese division designed and builds a long-wheelbase version of the last-generation A6.

Nissan's upmarket brand Infiniti has announced it will build a roadster version of the G37 coupe – aimed squarely at the BMW 3-series Coupe Convertible. And the Ferrari California isn't the only folding tin-top being announced this week; the G37 will also be launched as a CC with a multi-piece metal roof that stows at the flick of a switch. Our artist's impression shows how the new open-top G will look with the roof stowed away. No official photos have been issued yet, but we do know that Infiniti's first roadster will be on sale in the US market in February 2009.
